Dyspepsia could be relieved naturally using Curcumin, a compound found within the Ancient Indian spice turmeric, according to recent research from Thailand.

Researchers looked at two groups. The first group were given Curcumin 4 times on a daily basis, while the other were a placebo group. After a 7 day period, it was discovered that 87% of the Curcumin group achieved partial or full relief from the symptoms of dyspepsia. Within the placebo group however, only 53% were found to have achieved some improvements.

What is Dyspepsia?

Dyspepsia or Indigestion is a common condition and usually describes a group of symptoms rather than one predominant symptom. The symptoms of Dyspepsia vary and can include belly pain and discomfort, bloating, feeling uncomfortably full after eating, nausea, loss of appetite, heartburn and regurgitation of food or liquid.

In traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine, Curcumin has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years and for a variety of purposes. When Curcumin is taken regularly, it can increase energy, provide relief from gas and arthritis, dissolve gallstones, dispel worms and even regulate menstruation.

In Europe, the symptoms of dyspepsia are believed to be caused by insufficient bile flow from the gallbladder. Thankfully, Curcumin contains various properties that can be highly therapeutic and healing when it comes to anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-carcinogenic, antiseptic and anti-viral properties.

Curcumin can have a wide range of health benefits and this has the potential to help in the remission of ulcerative colitis.

How to take Curcumin?

Taking Curcumin in the form of Turmeric is one option, but a lot is required to achieve maximum absorption. For best results, Curcumin is highly recommended to be absorbed by taking it in supplement form.
