WEEK 32 (2026) – A question for you

Muscle strength and ageing have been on my mind for a while now. We touched on sarcopenia, the muscle loss that comes with age, a while back, and then more recently I have been writing about eccentric exercise and recovery. So when a friend told me about her elderly relative, someone who has developed severe muscle wasting and has also suffered broken bones, it landed differently than it might have done otherwise. It was not an abstract statistic. It was exactly the thing I had been reading and writing about, for months now, happening to someone real.

It reminded me why I do this work in the first place. It is easy for all of this, sleep, nutrients, strength, hormones, to feel theoretical until you experience something yourself or watch someone you care about go through it. On a much smaller scale, I experienced something similar with perimenopausal brain fog. It was nowhere near as serious, but until it happened to me, I had never really understood it either, and no amount of reading about it beforehand quite prepared me for how disorientating it could feel.

These things are real, and that is exactly why research into them matters, and why I keep digging into it week after week.

On that note, the NHN team and I are currently putting together the next issue of Naturally Healthy magazine, Issue 51. Most of it is done, but we still have a handful of slots to fill, so I wanted to ask you directly: is there a topic you have been wondering about, or something you or someone close to you is dealing with, that you would like to see us cover?

Whether it is nutrition, lifestyle or something else entirely, nothing is too big or too small. Just hit reply and let me know. I read every message, and your suggestion could end up in the next issue.

Thank you, as always, for reading and for taking the time to share your thoughts.
