To leave you with a little festive inspiration, here’s one of our favourite holiday recipes—a simple, homemade cranberry sauce to enjoy with your seasonal meals. It’s full of natural flavours and the goodness of real ingredients.

Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 oz (about 340g) fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) orange juice, freshly squeezed if possible
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) honey or maple syrup (or to taste)
  • Zest of one orange
  • A pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg for warmth (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the water, orange juice, and honey/maple syrup over medium heat. Stir until the honey dissolves.
  2. Add the cranberries and orange zest. Let the mixture come to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
  3. For a thicker consistency, simmer a bit longer. Taste and adjust sweetness, adding more honey or spices if desired.
  4. Allow it to cool slightly, then transfer to a serving dish. It will thicken further as it cools and can be made ahead to save time on your holiday cooking!
