Curcumin composited with mulberry may aid arthritis according to a new study. The independent study conducted by South Korean based research tested the composite on subjects and they were shown to have ‘statistically significant improvements in pain resistance’.

The control group of subjects were orally given UP1304 – a composite made from Curcuma longa (turmeric) root and Morus alba (white mulberry) root bark. The subjects showed ‘significant improvements in pain resistance’ compared to the control group of subjects given 200mg/kg of Ibuprofen.

This is because the botanical composite made from original plants contains analgesics and anti-inflammatory properties that can help with easing arthritis-related pain. Researchers used 75 subjects and then sedated them with 2.5% isoflourane before injecting them with 100 microliters of 1% w/v carrageenan. The outcome of this was induced inflammation and pain sensitivity. By dividing the subjects into 15 groups of 5 each, the members of the control group were then given 200mg/kg of Ibuprofen and the rest of the groups were given UP1304 at 100, 200, 300 and 400mg/kg doses.

The end results of this showed that the subjects given the dose of 300mg/kg of UP1304 observed reductions in their overall inflammation and pain sensitivity levels. The findings of the study gives promising results for anyone with joint health problems.

These results probably aren’t all that surprising however given that curcumin has been used since Ancient times to treat all manner of pain and inflammation related problems. But it is the consistent level of research and studies showing the many health effects that curcumin has on the body that is ultimately providing further strength and support to curcumin and its many benefits.

One way to get curcumin into your diet is to cook with turmeric. However, it is not readily absorbed into the bloodstream and often needs black pepper with it to be truly effective…plus a lot of turmeric would be needed to have any effect.

A better and more efficient way of ensuring you get more Curcumin into your body is to try supplementing with a Curcumin formulation that’s specifically designed to absorb 20-45x more Curcumin compared to ordinary Curcumin derived from Turmeric.

The suggested formulation for this is CurcuminX4000™ which contains 600mg of Meriva® (root) Curcuma longa extract.  It is recommended to take this formula, available from Good Health Naturally at the rate of 1 capsule x 3 times daily for best results. Many people who have taken this formulation have seen significant success and found relief for their painful arthritis conditions, especially when combined with a naturally healthy diet and lifestyle.
